Flyg med Lufthansa via Munchen flygplats!
Munich Airport, also known as Franz Josef Strauss International Airport, is the main gateway to Munich and one of the largest airports in Germany. It is a hub for Star Alliance, oneworld and SkyTeam and hosts over 100 passenger and cargo airlines including Lufthansa and Condor. It is the second-busiest airport in Germany in terms of passenger traffic after Frankfurt Airport, and the ninth-busiest airport in Europe, handling 47.9 million passengers in 2019. It is the world’s 15th-busiest airport in terms of international passenger traffic and was the 38th-busiest airport worldwide in 2018. It serves as hub for Lufthansa including its subsidiaries Lufthansa CityLine, Air Dolomiti and Eurowings as well as a base for Condor and TUI fly Deutschland.
Munich Airport has two terminals. Terminal 2 is jointly operated by Lufthansa and Munich Airport and since 2011 has been exceeding its capacity limit of 25 million passengers. As a result, Lufthansa and Munich Airport constructed a satellite facility for Terminal 2 to cater for the growth. As with Terminal 2, the ownership and investment costs for the building were be shared by the two companies on a 60:40 basis. With this satellite, the airport increased handling capacity by an additional 11 million passengers per annum. The building has no landside transportation links. Instead, an underground passenger transport system links Terminal 2 and the satellite in less than a minute.
Lufthansa Terminal 2 at Munich Airport is one of the most modern airport buildings in the world and ideally tailored to your requirements: short distances and modern services ensure a relaxed walk to your gate and give you the time to unwind in attractive surroundings or to explore the huge range of shops.
